A SAFE FIRE GROUND SHORTCUT

Over the years I have picked up some neat ideas and whatnot chasing calls. Those of you who get an opportunity to run at other stations see that some places do things differently than others.

While in Virginia Beach at an apartment fire I saw the driver of the initial attack piece pull out a grease pencil and mark his gauges. I asked him what it was for and he explained that he marked where the lines were going to and coming from. He told me this was something he did on his own and wasn't a department mandated procedure.

Pretty simple and it might help one person out there...so I felt it was good enough to share with y'all.
